The video work balances between a subjective and
a general (objective) idea of historical writing (and
thereby war) by not hierarchically structure what
is high and low according to the themes in the
video. In the video, feelings take over the rational
understanding of the situation and thus the personal
becomes the objective.
For example, the picture material based upon
documentaries what you might categorise as the
real events is throughout the narrative taken over
by the fabled text that is seen in the video.
There is talk about sorrow with an objective point
of departure like a national or a bigger concern.
But as the film precedes the tone of the text
changes and the objectivity of the voice is distorted.
For to whom does the story of sorrow belong to,
who can recount for its actions the best?
